Le Claouset - details
On the ground floor you walk from the courtyard garden into a big kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, microwave oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine, washing machine, a dresser full of crockery and a cupboard full of glassware. There's a big table which seats 12 comfortably. Extra seating is available. There's also a high chair and a seating/play area for children.
The staircase (unfortunately slightly steep, so not suitable for those with mobility issues) leads up to the large living room which has a round table for card games etc, a small library, three sofas, a big coffee table, a large log burner, an HD TV, DVD player, wifi booster and a TV decoder offering French and international channels such as CNN, BBC World, France24 and Sky News.
All our bedrooms are named after birds you will see locally. Two of them lead off the living room:
'Hirondelles' (swallows): a double bed with plenty of space for a cot, plus its own en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, handbasin and toilet.
'Piafs' (slang for sparrows): a double bed and a bunk bed (for two children), plus its own en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, handbasin and toilet.
On the top floor in the converted attic:
'Chouettes' (little owls; one regularly perches on the gable above it) is our largest bedroom and has a king-sized bed and two further beds which can be attached to make a double bed, plus an en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, handbasin and toilet.
'Pics-Verts' (green woodpeckers): a double bed and two further beds which can be attached to make a double bed, plus an en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, handbasin and toilet.
The gîte is very well equipped; if you want a full equipment list please download it here. If you have a specific query or request, get in touch.
